Dupont Nomex 410 and The 400 Series Electrical Insulation Paper
product detail
The Industry Standard for Electrical Insulation DuPont™ Nomex® 410 is a calendered insulating paper that offers a unique balance of properties. It has been used for decades in almost every known electrical insulation application. This aramid fiber-based material is famous for its ability to maintain its integrity at temperatures exceeding 220°C, providing a safety margin and reliability that synthetic substitutes cannot match. Available in 11 thicknesses ranging from 0.05 mm to 0.76 mm (2 mil to 30 mil).
Key Performance Benefits
-
Exceptional Dielectric Strength: Provides superior electrical protection even in thin gauges, allowing for more compact equipment designs.
-
Thermal Stability: UL-rated for continuous use at 220°C, with the ability to withstand significantly higher short-term temperature peaks.
-
Mechanical Toughness: Highly resistant to tearing and abrasion, making it suitable for heavy-duty winding and automated insertion processes.
-
Chemical Compatibility: Excellent resistance to most solvents and acids; fully compatible with all classes of insulating varnishes and adhesives.

Data Sheet
Application
1. High-Voltage Motors & Generators
Applications: The preferred choice for slot insulation, phase insulation, and turn-to-turn insulation in industrial motors. Its mechanical strength ensures it won't fail during the high-stress winding process.
2. Transformers & Rectifiers
Applications: Used as interlayer insulation in liquid-immersed and dry-type transformers. Its chemical resistance makes it ideal for use in oil-filled equipment where long-term stability is critical.
3. Electric Vehicle (EV) Power Electronics
Applications: Providing critical thermal and electrical barriers in EV traction motors and inverters. Our custom die-cut shapes ensure a perfect fit in the tight spaces of modern automotive electronics.
4. Aerospace & Defense
Applications: Trusted in aviation electrical systems where lightweight, high-temperature, and fire-resistant properties are mandatory for mission-critical hardware.
